Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma led team India has brought the T20 World Cup trophy home. On Saturday, India beat South Africa to clinch the title. Kohli took to his Instagram handle to share a post celebrating the big win, and it has now created a record of its own.
The cricketer’s Instagram post has officially become the most liked picture in India. The record was earlier held by Bollywood actor couple Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani.
Kohli’s post celebrating the World Cup victory has amassed over 19 million likes, overtaking the 16.26 million likes garnered by the actress announcing her marriage in February 2023.
In his post, the former Indian cricket team captain shared photos of team India lifting the World Cup trophy and added a couple of photos from the celebration, which happened in the locker room. The post was captioned, “Couldn’t have dreamt of a better day than this. God is great and I bow my head in gratitude. We finally did it.”
