Virat Kohli has been out of action for quite a long time, struggling to flow runs from his bat. Neither the technique nor his confidence is under the scanner. Multiple reports have emerged from the former cricketers and the fraternity to help Virat cope with poor form but the 33-years-old star batsman is unable to lead the team through his bat. BCCI, lately, rested Virat from the West Indies tour but has reportedly pulled up the player to play the Zimbabwe series, according to the reports by InsideSport.
A selection committee member while talking to the InsideSport said, “But without any competitive cricket, it will be difficult and that is why we want him to play against Zimbabwe. It’s his preferred format and will help him regain his form before the Asia Cup. We will take a final decision close to the selection.” Shikhar Dhawan will continue to lead the side in the absence of Rohit Sharma in the West Indies and Zimbabwe.
