Former Indian Skipper Virat Kohli issued a statement regarding images of his wife Anushka Sharma holding their daughter Vamika were making rounds on different social media platforms. The couple who have been protective of Vamika’s privacy have requested people to respect their stance on it quite a couple of times in the past as well.

“We would really appreciate it if Vamika’s images are not clicked/published for reasons we have explained earlier,” Virat Kohli wrote on his Instagram story on Monday.

Anushka and Vamika were present at Cape town during the last ODI match between South Africa vs India, which the Proteas won by 4 runs and concluded the series 3-0. It was during the live telecast, visuals of Anushka holding Vamika in her arms were captured by the camera. The camera focused on them for a few seconds before turning the feed, back to the field. This was the first time Vamika’s photo was seen and published on social media and didn’t take time to make rounds throughout social media. There were netizens and fans who criticized the broadcasters for showing Vamika on a live broadcast on social media.

The cricketer-actor couple has previously also mentioned the reason to keep Vamika away from the exposure of media until she grows old enough to understand it. Recently Anushka Sharma posted a thank you note for the camerapersons to not capture Vamika’s photo while she was accompanying Virat on an Oversea tour.

Virat Kohli who scored the fifty in the first innings of the last ODI match dedicated it to Vamika after he reached the milestone doing a cradle celebration. This was his second half-century in the series one coming in the first ODI match in Paarl.
