Virat Kohli breaks his long silence on the captaincy saga saying he was never communicated about the decision of the selection panel. He received this information through the selectors at the end of a call that he was attending for the selection of the test team with the selectors. It was just one and a half hours before the official announcement that he learns his removal as ODI’s captain.
He also says that he was never consulted about reconsidering captaincy in T-20 matches as the media reports say otherwise. Also, he is and was always available for the selection in the ODI’s cricket but the reports claim otherwise. He slams these reports and asked the journalists to ask them why did they write so in his virtual press conference.
On Rohit appointment Virat says that he is very able to captain and he is technically very sound, he proved his leadership in the matches that he played for team India as a captain. He along with a great men manager Rahul Dravid, who is the newly appointed coach of the India male cricket team, will definitely, take the team to new heights.
After Virat Kohli’s virtual press meet, social media is flooded with fans reactions slamming Saurabh Ganguly (Dada) and BCCI’s senior officials.
Prashant Bhushan, a senior public interest lawyer of the supreme court and an activist gives it a political twist and tweets, “The only guy seated in this picture is our Cricket maestro Baby Shah, the recently anointed Secy BCCI. All other honchos of BCCI including Dada Ganguly are standing like his servants. This gang has sacked Kohli as ODI captain!”
