Tim Paine set to join Hobart Hurricanes

Hobart Hurricanes have signed Australian test skipper Tim Paine for the upcoming Big Bash season. The 35 year old wicket keeper batsman was also a part of the squad in 2011 and went to captain the side from 2013 to 2017 whilst also leading Hobart to a runners up place in the 2013-14 season.

Paine is delighted to join the franchise again. He says “I’m thrilled to be back with the Hurricanes for this 10th edition of the Big Bash League. The ‘Canes have been one of the strongest teams in the competition over the past couple of seasons, so to have a small opportunity to be a part of and contribute to that environment where required is something I’m really looking forward to. The talent in our squad is phenomenal. As a proud Tasmanian, there’s no team I would rather make my return to the Big Bash with than Tasmania’s team.”

Paine will join the squad after the 4 match test series against India that ends on the 19th of January, 2021.

The 10th edition of the Big Bash league is set to begin on the 10th of December with the opening game being the Hobart Hurricanes vs the Sydney Sixers.
