The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Zaka Ashraf, revealed details of a conversation with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, where they exchanged invitations for the Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023.
Initially, Shah had accepted the invitation to attend the Asia Cup 2023 opener in Pakistan, while also inviting Ashraf to the World Cup matches in India. However, tensions arose when BCCI’s Arun Dhumal refuted the discussion, denying any agreement for India’s visit to Pakistan.
Jay Shah clarified that he had not agreed to any such visit and attributed the misunderstanding to miscommunication by the Pakistani media.
Given the sensitive political situation between the two countries, there remains uncertainty regarding the participation of Indian officials in cricket events hosted by Pakistan.
