Temba Bavuma, who is returning, will captain South Africa at the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia as well as the limited overs matches against India that come before the major event.

After sustaining an elbow injury in the fourth T20I match against India in June of this year, Bavuma was forced to withdraw from the current England tour. Rassie van de Dussen, South Africa’s top limited-overs batter, is currently out of both competitions after breaking his left index finger in the second Test against England in Manchester. He will have surgery, and at least six weeks of recovery time are anticipated.
