South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has opted out to play the two-match T20I series against Ireland in August. The CSA stated that Rabada was ruled out due to an ankle injury in his left medial.
Kagiso Rabada was recently rested in the ODIs to focus on T20Is as the ICC T20 World Cup is going to commence soon. Rabada unfortunately has to sit out with the injury until he recovers. The board however feels that the pacer might recover in two weeks as South Africa will be facing the crucial Test series against England, which shall affect their results in the ICC World Test Championship.
“He [Rabada] will continue medical management and rehabilitation and his progress will be closely monitored in preparation for the upcoming three-match Test series against England later this month,” the CSA statement read
