Indian cricket team lost the ODI series against New Zealand in their home recently by 1-0. Two of three games in this particular series were declared ‘no result’ due to heavy rain at the location. Indian team won the T20I series by 1-0 where Hardik captained the side. Shikhar Dhawan however couldn’t manage to keep his 100% winning record as captain of Indian ODI team.
Shikhar Dhawan felt the team was lacking something and New Zealand were better than them in every aspect. The captain explained how India can approach to the bigger competitions or tournaments. Indian cricket team opening batter didn’t expect the series to go as the way it went. The Punjab Kings’ batter feels the senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli can lead the team well as they have a good experience and that will be important for the team ahead of the World Cup 2023.
“In Bangladesh, all senior players will be back. That will be a more practical journey towards the World Cup,” said Shikhar Dhawan ahead of the series between India and Bangladesh.
