In a crucial turn of events on Day 4 of the WTC Final between India and Australia, Mohammed Shami finally broke through the stubborn partnership of Mitchell Starc and Alex Carey. After a long struggle, Shami managed to dismiss Starc thanks to a brilliant catch by Virat Kohli at first slip.
Starc attempted to go over mid-on with a powerful swing but ended up getting a thick outside edge. Kohli displayed his exceptional slip-catching skills, diving to his left and grabbing the ball cleanly.
The 93-run partnership between Starc and Carey had put Australia in a strong position, building a significant lead over 400 runs. However, Shami’s breakthrough brings a glimmer of hope for India. With the dismissal of Starc, Pat Cummins is set to come out to bat, and India will be aiming to quickly wrap up the Australian innings.
