The recent performances by Indian seamers have not been top-notch. Whether it’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya or swing machine Bhuvneshwar Kumar, everyone has struggled with the ball.
However, the Indian skipper has got their back and believes they will make an astonishing comeback for everyone. Hitman has come ahead defending Harshal Patel and Bhuvi who are finding it difficult to keep up with their rhythm and consistency in the past few series.
“Whenever bowlers go through an injury phase and come back, it’s never easy, so we’re not really judging him on how he has performed in these three games because we know his quality,” Sharma stated while defending Patel.
Apart from this Bhuvi who is much senior and more experienced than the young Harshal also faced a lot of controversy after struggling in the death overs.
To this Hitman backed Bhuvneshwar by acknowledging everyone saying this can happen to any bowler around the globe.
“It’s important we give him that space. Because when you have a guy like him in the team and the quality that he brings, we know that he’s had more good days than bad days honestly speaking, in the last so many years we’ve seen. Yes, of late it’s been not the kind of performance that he would want, but that can happen to any of the bowlers.” Sharma concluded.
India will host a three-match T20I against South Africa. Both teams will clash for the first T20I on 28th September at Greenfield Stadium, Kerela.
