Men in blue lost both the Test as well as ODI series in what turned out to be a catastrophic away series in South Africa despite a good start in the first Test at Centurion which the team won comfortably.
He did a good job and it’s difficult to be on the losing side despite being favorites to cruise through the series, said the head coach when asked about Rahul’s captaincy in the four matches which he captained.
This series will be an eye-opener for everyone to look into their strengths and weaknesses and get better and stronger also the men in blue felt the void created due to the injury of Ravindra Jadeja, who could not be part of this series and had to play some youngsters who still have time to grow and develop.
The team combination in the white ball series was not balanced and the template of the team changed on match to match basis which made it difficult for the players to settle in.
There is still time for the 2023 ODI World Cup and India should get better in the near future to compete with the likes of Australia, New Zealand, England.
