Quinton de Kock has shocked fans by reversing his international retirement and making a comeback to South Africa’s squads across formats. The 32-year-old wicketkeeper-batter last played a Test in 2021, an ODI in 2023, and a T20I in the 2024 T20 World Cup final, after which he was seen primarily in global franchise leagues.
Cricket South Africa confirmed that de Kock has been named in both the ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming tour of Pakistan, as well as the T20I against Namibia. His return adds a wealth of experience to the Proteas’ relatively youthful squads.
