The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) chose former India fast bowler Aavishkar Salvi as its senior men team’s head coach on Tuesday, almost two months after inviting applications for coaching roles of state teams of various age groups.
Salvi, who made his international debut back in 2003 against Bangladesh, brings to Punjab his great coaching background. Salvi, who played for Mumbai in local competitions, was only able to appear in four one-day internationals for India before a devastating injury ended his time representing his country.
