The winning streak of the team chasing continues in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 as Karachi Kings chased an enormous target of 196 and defeated the Multan Sultans by seven wickets at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The tournament recorded nine straight wins for the teams batting second as the King’s top-order, Babar Azam to be specific continued to contribute runs for the team. He scored 90* off 60 balls and led his team to victory.
Along with him, Sharjeel Khan who scored 27 off 14 and Joe Clarke who played with a much higher strike rate than Azam, score 54 runs off 26 balls and helped in anchoring the chase for the team.
Earlier, Multan was off to a brilliant start with their top-order batsman and captain Mohammad Rizwan scoring 45 off 32 balls and the other opener Chris Lynn scoring 32 off 14 balls.
At one point it looked like the team would set a target of above 200 runs, however, they slowed down their pace after their top-order batsmen got out in the second half of their innings and ended up posting a competitive total of 195 for the loss of six wickets.
The target proved to be too easy for the Karachi Kings who are currently on the top of the leader board after this win against the Multan Sultans. On the other hand, Multan Sultans are placed last having won only one of their four games.
