Soon after former India captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni retired from international cricket, many political leaders suggested him of getting into politics.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on twitter said that MS Dhoni has demonstrated inspiring leadership skills in cricket and the same is needed in public life. Advising the cricketer to be a future politician, he tweeted, ” M. S. Dhoni is retiring from Cricket but not from anything else. His talent-to be able to fight against odds and his inspiring leadership of a team that he has demonstrated in cricket is needed in public life. He should fight in LS General Elections in 2024.”

Some speculate that MS Dhoni might join the Bhartiya Janata Party BJP and become the party’s face in his home state Jharkhand. This thought got more revealing as many BJP leaders commented on Dhoni’s retirement from international and wished him luck towards making a political career.
However, politicians from other parties have also congratulated the successful captain and wished to reach the pinnacle in new endeavors.
Delhi’s deputy CM Manish Sisodia Twitted, “Who would want Mahendra Singh Dhoni to retire from international cricket? We just wanted to see Captain Cool playing even more. But once Captain Cool has decided, good luck in life!

Senior Congress leader and scholar Shashi Tharoor mentioned in his tweet that Dhoni has left a stamp on Indian cricket that defined an era.
So sorry to hear that #msdhoni retired half an hour ago. A true giant of the game, India's finest wicketkeeper-batsman & a transformative captain, he left a stamp on Indian cricket that defined an era. March on, Dhoniji. There will be other peaks to climb. https://t.co/Y4r8FBCO92
