Pakistan continue to dominate Australia in the ongoing first Test at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, with Azhar Ali scoring a fine century on Day 2. Imam-ul-Haq and Azhar have put up a second-wicket stand of nearly 200 runs, bringing Pakistan above the 300-run mark over Australia. Pakistan scored 245 for the loss of one wicket at stumps on Day 1. Nathan Lyon had dismissed Abdullah Shafique after a splendid catch by skipper Pat Cummins, and he had dropped out on his fifty.

The last time Pakistan faced Australia in a Test match, Azhar Ali stated that the 2-0 series defeat had harmed his country’s pride.

The veteran has promised that there would be no similar issues when he arrives in Rawalpindi this week.

The left-hander, who has been a thorn in Australia’s side, smashed Nathan Lyon through mid-on for four to bring up his 19th Test century past lunch on day two.

Pakistan batsmen took full advantage of the flat batting abode on offer in Rawalpindi after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood, the legendary Australian fast trio, were unable to produce any movement off the pitch as the openers breezed through the initial exchange with ease.

Pakistan had a great start over Australia in the first Test at Rawalpindi, winning seven of their last eight Tests. The hosts were in command after Imam ul Haq’s first Test century, and they began Day 2 on Saturday with 245 with one wicket.
