On this day, in 2014 the legendary batsman of the Indian team Sachin Tendulkar was conferred with the “Bharat Ratna”, India’s highest civilian honour.

He is widely regarded as the “God of Cricket” among cricket fans. Tendulkar was known for his incredible batting technique. He also scored the highest run in the ODIs as well as Tests. In his glorious career of 24 years, he created an abundance of records.

He collected several awards for his remarkable contributions to Indian Cricket. “Bharat Ratna” which he received in 2014 on this day is his greatest individual achievement, among all the accomplishments and glory he received. On 4th February 2014, Sachin Tendulkar was conferred with a’s highest civilian award “Bharat Ratna” by the former President of India, the late Pranab Mukherjee. At Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
