ODI World Cup 2023: I really did enjoy, really nice wicket to bat on, David Malan

David Malan was really happy with the way he played and converted his innings into a big one. Malan scored his personal best in the ODI by scoring 140, including 16 fours and five sixes. The batter expressed his joy post-inning, saying that he really enjoyed playing and considered the wicket to be good for batting.

“I did enjoy it; the really nice wicket slowed down as it went on, but thankfully for us, myself and Jonny (Bairstow) got a good partnership,” said Malan.

He also believed that if his side kept up with the discipline, they could win this match against Bangladesh at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.

“I hope it becomes slower in the second inning with the sun beating down; when it got to that stage, it was hard to time the ball. I thought we had to do something different, so I went a bit harder against the new ball. If we keep up with our discipline, we can win,” Malan concluded.

England kept a huge target of 365 against Bangladesh, with Joe Root (82) and Jonny Bairstow (52) contributing some crucial runs along with Malan.
