New Zealand defeated Bangladesh comfortably by 8 wickets in the T20I tri-series on Saturday. The series is held between New Zealand, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
The host won a good toss and the bowlers kept things right from the beginning. The team’s ace seamers Trent Bolt & Tim Southee struck two wickets each. Whereas the spinners Ish Sodhi and Micheal Bracewell also contributed with two wickets each. Bangladesh was restricted to 137/8.
While chasing down a not-so-very-competitive score New Zealand opener Devon Conway anchored the innings with an undisputed 51-ball 70. Kiwi skipper Kane Willamson (30) and Glenn Phillips (23*) played the supportive part to grab an 8-wicket victory.
While New Zealand will get a boost from this win, Bangladesh needs to ponder and fix things before the ICC T20 World Cup starts.
