New Zealand Cricket (NZC) refuses to change the dates of the two-Test series against South Africa in February 2024, despite CSA’s request to avoid a player availability clash with the SA20.

NZC states that the fixtures are already set as per the Future Tours Programme (FTP). South Africa may face a player shortage as the Tests coincide with the latter stages of the SA20, and CSA has given priority to the T20 league during the January window.

The series in New Zealand will be South Africa’s second engagement in the 2023-2025 World Test Championship cycle. CSA is concerned about the squad’s quality for the New Zealand tour but has not indicated any plans to forfeit the series.
