Mumbai team name Ajinkya Rahane as their Captain ahead of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

The Mumbai team is placed in Group B alongside the teams of Karnataka, Services, Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Baroda.

Ahead of the domestic season that starts next month, the Mumbai team has named Ajinkya Rahane as the captain of the team. He will lead a strong 20 men team of players that include the likes of Shivam Dube, Aditya Tare, Yashasvi Jaiswal, etc. Prithvi Shaw who was the leader of the last year’s Vijay Hazare trophy-winning team will play as the deputy to Rahane.

Ajinkya Rahane is the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team. He was a part of the team that toured England. The team did a fabulous job as the series was abandoned due to the COVID-19 scare, although Rahane was not able to contribute much with the bat, as he scored a meagre total of 109 runs in the four tests at an average of 15.57. He was also a part of the Delhi Capitals set up in the second leg of the IPL, however, he couldn’t find a place in the team that was knocked out of the tournament in the 2nd qualifier by Kolkata Knight Riders.
