Pakistan’s director of cricket, Mickey Arthur, has attributed the team’s poor performance in the World Cup to the stringent security measures and limited social interactions enforced due to the ongoing tournament. The Men in Green have faced challenges in their matches, losing four out of seven games and now need to secure victories in their remaining two matches to remain in contention for a spot in the semifinals.

Arthur expressed his concerns about the significant security protocols that have confined the players to their hotel rooms, likening the experience to the isolation felt during the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that the team’s breakfast arrangements were made separately, further emphasizing the restrictions imposed on their movements.

The inability to socialize and explore outside the hotel environment has taken a toll on the players, according to Arthur. He highlighted that while the team is accustomed to traveling, this time, they have been unable to venture out for meals or engage in activities independently, which has been stifling for them.

Arthur revealed the team’s attempts to create a sense of fun and camaraderie within the confines of their hotel rooms, organizing team events to boost morale. However, these efforts have had limited success, as the players have only been able to leave the hotel premises a few times, with strict security measures in place.

The director of cricket’s remarks shed light on the challenges faced by the Pakistani team, highlighting the impact of the restricted environment on their overall performance in the tournament.
