India cruised to a comfortable six-wicket victory over Pakistan in their Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match in Dubai, but the buzz didn’t end on the field. The drama spilled over to social media after Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf’s wife posted an Instagram story featuring a photo of her husband showing a “6-0” hand sign. She captioned it, “Lost the match but won the battle.”

The post quickly went viral, with fans interpreting it as a cheeky nod to India, even though Pakistan lost the match. The “6-0” gesture is linked to claims often circulated in Pakistan regarding the shooting down of six Indian fighter jets during India’s Operation Sindoor. While these claims have been widely debunked, the gesture was used by Pakistani fans and Haris Rauf during the cricket match.

On the field, India took control right from the start. The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill laid the foundation for the chase. Abhishek made a statement by smashing a six off the very first ball from Shaheen Afridi, putting Pakistan on the back foot immediately.

Tensions flared at times, with verbal exchanges between the Indian openers and Pakistani bowlers, notably Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf. Despite Pakistan picking up a couple of wickets after the drinks break, India’s dominance was clear. Abhishek Sharma’s 74-run innings, featuring massive sixes—particularly one over mid-wicket off Abrar Ahmed—was the highlight of the match.

Shubman Gill, along with Tilak Varma and the other Indian batters, made sure the chase remained smooth. India secured a straightforward six-wicket win, marking a strong start to their Super Four campaign. They now need just one more win to confirm a spot in the finals, while Pakistan will need back-to-back victories to get a rematch with India in the summit clash.
