Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina who recently announced retirement from International cricket was all set to play the IPL for CSK. In unknown turns of the event, the batsman had to leave for India due to personal reasons and won’t be available for the 13th season IPL.
After the news was made official, teammate Shane Watson shared a heartfelt message for Raina via an Instagram post.
“Hello everyone, I wake up this morning with the very bad news that Suresh Raina is heading back to India for personal reasons. My heart goes to you. I hope you are doing okay, mate,” Watson said. He also mentioned how much the team and the IPL is going to miss him. He hoped that the player takes care of him and his family in such times.
The CSK camp has also faced another issue with players and support staff testing positive for COVID-19. Watson commented on the same boy saying that it is going to be interesting to stay indoor for another week but they have to do everything to limit the spread of the virus throughout the IPL.
“All players, all fans, want it to go ahead. I’ll do whatever we have to do to make sure that IPL goes ahead,” he added. The team will be tested after this quarantine period and can start training after returning three negative tests. All other teams are already training for the tournament starting on 19th September.
