After the match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Indian commentator Charu Sharma took to Twitter to argue that MS Dhoni’s return to the CSK leadership had no bearing on the manner the two CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway batted, a claim which is being slammed by Dhoni’s fans.
“Applause for Gaekwad & Conway. But did they score due to Dhoni’s return as skipper? Of course not! Though too late now for Chennai Super Kings, a relieved Ravindra Jadeja can play hero again,” he tweeted.
While what Charu Sharma stated may have been fair in his own sense, Dhoni fans were not happy and criticized him for displaying inappropriate hatred for the former India captain.
Fans further stated that Dhoni haven’t ever took credit for his two openers’ outstanding performances, and that his presumption was based on a few insignificant social media remarks.
