In a major boost to Mumbai Indians’ campaign, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has officially rejoined the franchise’s squad ahead of their highly anticipated IPL 2025 fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
The five-time champions confirmed Bumrah’s return through a thrilling announcement video shared across their social media platforms with the caption: “Ready to Roar.”

Bumrah, who had been undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE), had missed all of Mumbai’s matches so far this season, leaving fans eagerly awaiting updates on his fitness. Skipper Hardik Pandya had hinted at Bumrah’s potential comeback during the toss ahead of MI’s game against Lucknow Super Giants, saying, “Jasprit should be back soon.” That promise has now turned into a reality.
The return of the 31-year-old fast bowler could mark a turning point for Mumbai Indians, who have struggled to find momentum in IPL 2025. Known for his pinpoint yorkers, sharp pace, and calmness under pressure, Bumrah’s presence will add much-needed firepower and leadership to MI’s bowling lineup.
With the Wankhede crowd set to welcome him back, all eyes will now be on Bumrah as he prepares to make his first appearance of the season in what could be a defining game for Mumbai.
