The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have advanced to the playoffs in each of their first two IPL seasons, and a big part of their incredible start in the lucrative T20 league has to do with the outstanding job they’ve done in the player auctions. Gautam Gambhir, the team’s mentor, made sure that LSG made accurate selections every time.
Gambhir will not be on their menu this time around as he has chosen to join the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). That shouldn’t be a big deal, though, because Justin Langer has been appointed head coach by the team.
Players LSG Can Target:
Kulwant Khejroliya
LSG can target many promising Indian pacers in the auction, including Shivam Mavi, Kartik Tyagi, and Chetan Sakariya, but they most likely lack the funding to compete with other clubs. They might go for Kulwant Khejroliya, who was released by KKR last month, in such a scenario. The left-arm pacer adds diversity to the team and is a respectable member.
Yash Dayal
Yash Dayal, another left-arm pace bowler, might be on LSG’s wish list. The UP bowler may match LSG’s budget and has proven his abilities while playing for the Gujarat Titans (GT).
Shahrukh Khan
The former member of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) can provide the necessary firepower to LSG’s lower-order batting, having scored his runs at a strike rate of 166 from lower order previous season.
