Premier opener Shikhar Dhawan spoke up about being rejected by a girl during his early playing days in a frank interview with Punjab Kings on the franchise’s official YouTube channel.
“Once I proposed to a girl and she rejected me. She used to play at that time and had a dark face tone. So, you know what I said? I told her that you have rejected the Kohinoor diamond,” Dhawan recalled.
Shikhar Dhawan has played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a number of teams, including the five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Deccan Chargers, Delhi Capitals (DC), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2022. PBKS purchased the left-handed batter for a hefty INR 8.25 crore at the blockbuster auction.
