KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock have added 51 runs in five overs to help the Lucknow Super Giants get off to a flying start in their chase, led a superb start with a 99-run stand.

Earlier in the evening, Uthappa and Moeen Ali gave CSK a flying start, adding 73 runs in the powerplay overs while losing Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was run-out on 1(4). Moeen was cleaned up by Avesh Khan on 35 (22). The partnership between Ambati Rayudu and Shivam Dube for the fourth wicket was subsequently broken by Bishnoi, he cleaned up Rayudu on 27 (20). Shivam Dube came one run short of his half-century.

The Lucknow Super Giants have won the toss and bowled first. KL Rahul has no qualms about bowling first. One alteration has been made by the Lucknow Super Giants, Mohsin is replaced by Andrew Tye. Chennai Super Kings, on the other side, have made three changes. Dwaine Pretorius replaces Adam Milne and Moeen Ali returns.
