Gujarat Titans’ captain Hardik Pandya, bowled magnificently against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday. He took the massive wicket of Kane Williamson and gave just 27 runs in his four overs. Pandya was seen back bowling this IPL, he hasn’t bowled since 2021, due to his recurring back injury. In this IPL, Pandya has shown drastic improvement and has just bowled 6 balls over-pitched. He has bowled 61% of the balls outside off stump, adjusting accordingly to the shots played by the batsmen.
Pandya may not be remarkably successful in getting wickets this season, but improvement in his line and length is a huge positive for the Indian side going forward. He has bowled with an economy of 7.63 in this season so far; his best economy in IPL so far.
Pandya on Monday gave an all-around performance for Gujarat Titans. Unfortunately, GT didn’t end up on the winning side. The dynamic Indian all-rounder in the first innings scored 50* runs off 42 balls. Some of his shots were copy-book shots and were a treat to watch. Pandya though could have accelerated his innings quickly but was sincere towards saving his wicket and batting the full innings. In the second innings, he took the massive wicket of Kane Williamson and gave just 27 runs in his four overs.
