The reigning champions have had a dreadful start, losing four games in a row for only the second time in their glorious IPL history. For the very first time in their history, the four-time winners are winless after the season’s first four matches.
Chennai Super Kings have seemed helpless so far under new skipper Ravindra Jadeja, as they were beaten by SunRisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in IPL 2022 Match 17. Nevertheless, all hope is just not lost, as CSK has shown to be more robust than any other team in the face of defeat.
The very last time Chennai Super Kings dropped four consecutive games was in 2010. The Men in Yellow have suffered consecutive defeats against the Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, and Rajasthan Royals. CSK, on either hand, ended up winning their first IPL title the same year.
Captain Jadeja is clearly under pressure, as he must fill enormous feet and live up to the expectations of spectators who have become familiar to Dhoni pulling off the seemingly impossible.
The only other time #CSK lost four #IPL games in a row was from 21 Mar 2010 to 28 Mar 2010 – against PBKS (superover), RCB (36 runs), MI (5 wkts) and RR (17 runs).
However, CSK won their first IPL title the same season!#CSKvSRH #SRHvsCSK #IPL2022— Mohandas Menon (@mohanstatsman) April 9, 2022
