Skipper Hardik Pandya has provided good momentum to the team after Gujarat lost two crucial wickets in the first three overs. In the powerplay, speedster Dushmantha Chameera bowled an impressive spell of 2/13 to send Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar back to the dugout.
At the end of the powerplay, Gujarat Titans scores at 44/2, with Hardik Pandya(19*) and Matthew Wade(14*) at the crease.
After restricting Lucknow Super Giants for 158 runs, Shubman Gill and Matthew Wade were the men in to start Gujarat’s innings. On the third delivery of the first innings, Sri Lanka’s speedster Dushmantha Chameera took the massive wicket of Gill. Gill was looking to score a boundary above point but couldn’t get the connection, getting caught by Deepak Hooda at the backward point.
Surprisingly allrounder Vijay Shankar was promoted to in at one and was the next man on the crease. Chameera was bowling ferociously and sent Vijay Shankar back to the dugout with his amazing inswinging yorker.
