Kings XI Punjab has had a drastic improvement in their performance this season. Out of the first 6 games they played, they lost five which was a huge number. They stayed at the bottom of the table for the most part of the first half of the season but now things have changed. They have won 5 matches in a row out of which 4 victories came against the top 4 teams on the table including MI and RCB. They are now on the fourth position and have kept their chances of qualifying alive.
After MI became the first team to qualify for the playoffs, there are still 6 teams in the race for the 3 spots remaining. On Friday 30th October, Rajasthan Royals will play Kings XI Punjab and it is a do or die game for them. If the royals lose they will be out of the race for the qualifiers. Chris Gayle’s returns the team has added to KXIP’s batting powerhouse. Mayank Agarwal who was out due to an injury seems to be making a comeback in this match.
It will be an interesting match as both the sides have some amazingly talented players who have performed very well this season. Rajasthan has the World Cup-winning player Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson who is amongst the runs whereas KXIP has Gayle, KL Rahul and Many Agarwal who have had a good run so far.
