The opening match of the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp was not the one they would have wanted as they ended on the losing side. The match against Royal Challengers Bangalore began with an impressive knock from the 20-year-old batman Devdutt Padikkal who was on his IPL debut. While skipper David Warner was dismissed by a very unusual run out which was freaky. Even after that the side was very well led by Bairstow, but after he got out the batting order collapsed.
Yuzvendra Chahal was the bowler for RCB who gave them the big breakthrough and got the wicket of the dangerous man. “I can’t remember the last time I was out like that. There are four things that happened in this game that I have never seen before. A lot of courage for Mitchell to go out there and try. It doesn’t look great for him, can’t put any weight on his leg. Hopefully, it isn’t too bad, it was quite painful for him, so fingers crossed,’ Warner said at the post-match presentation.
Mitchell Marsh suffered n injury in the first over of his spell and had to leave the ground in severe pain. He came to bat but unfortunately got out and suffered extreme pain.
“We had the run chase in control and we knew that we had to go after their bowlers in the end. Probably the last over of Chahal was the turning point out there. We have to go back to the drawing board; we obviously can’t fix what happened today but we have to go back and work hard before our next game in Abu Dhabi.
RCB won by 10 runs as they dismantled the batting line up of SRH by taking consecutive wickets in the last overs. Its the first time in 3 years that RCB began their campaign on a winning note. They would be king to continue in the same spirit while SRH will be looking to get a win to boost their confidence again.
