Rajasthan Royals managed to defeat Chennai Super Kings by 16 runs to start their IPL campaign with a win. This victory against CSK was backed by a strong batting display where they posted a total of 216 batting first. Half centuries by youngster Sanju Samson and Skipper Steven Smith. Along with a quick fire cameo by Joffra Archer lit up the Sharjha Stadium.

CSK already had a mountain to chase and if they manage to chase the target it would have been the most successful target chase by any IPL side ever. This alone indicates how mamoth the target was.

CSK opener Shane Watson showed some fight but lost his wicket which eventually led to a string of wickets for CSK. No batsmen other than Faf du Plessis seemed to give a tough competition to RR’s bowling.

He was the bright stone in the dark as he scored 72 runs. All the other CSK batsmen looked hopeless and eventually scummed under pressure as the target was too huge to chase.

Sanju Samson was awarded the man of the match for his heroics by scoring 74 runs and 9 maximums and was also awarded for highest maximum hitter of the day.

Tune in tomorrow as we have a very exciting match which is MI vs KKR on the table.
