Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, known for his fearless batting and playful nature, recently shared an amusing story of how he fooled teammates Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, and others into eating spicy wasabi for the first time. During a fun IPL preview segment with Star Sports, Pant also opened up about his ultimate cheat meal choices, leaving fans craving a feast.

Pant’s Hilarious Wasabi Prank on Teammates

While discussing his food preferences, Pant recalled his first-ever sushi experience in England during the 2017-18 tour. He admitted that he had no clue about wasabi’s intense heat at the time. However, after learning the hard way, he decided to trick his teammates into trying it.

“Mujhe bhi pehli baar England mein 2017-18 mein sushi khaane ka mauka mila. Pata nahi tha wasabi kya hota hai, uske baad itne logon ko khilaya hai na… Shashank, Gill, Siraj aur baaki sab!” Pant shared with a mischievous grin.

The story left the panel in splits as Pant revealed how he enjoyed watching his unsuspecting teammates struggle with the fiery kick of wasabi.

Pant’s Ultimate Cheat Day Meal

When asked about his ideal cheat meal, Pant didn’t hold back on his love for food.

“Pura din chahiye cheat meal! Shuru karunga chhole bhature ya mummy ke hath ke aloo ke parathe, phir shaam ko desi Chinese ya butter chicken,” he stated.

Pant also admitted his newfound love for sushi, making it a part of his cheat day cravings.

Recently, Pant spoke about young cricketers prioritizing the Indian team over IPL opportunities. Having moved to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for IPL 2025 after an eight-year stint with Delhi Capitals, he emphasized the importance of focusing on the national team first.

“IPL ek bada platform hai, lekin asli success tabhi milti hai jab primary focus Indian team par ho,” Pant said.

Reflecting on his journey, he expressed gratitude for making his India debut at just 18 years old and credited his fearless approach and gymnastics background for shaping his unique playing style.

With IPL 2025 approaching, Pant will be aiming to make a strong impact with LSG, while his entertaining on and off-field antics continue to win over fans.
