Cometh the hour, cometh the man they say, and Padikkal’s fifty came just at the right time for RCB who seem to be struggling to get their second half of IPL started.

After suffering a huge loss against KKR, Bangalore’s boys came into the game against CSK as the second favourite. However, Padikkal had a point to prove after a bad first match, and the youngster chose to let his bat do all the talking. Padikkal opened the innings with Kohli and made his intentions clear by smashing the CSK pacers all around the park. By the end of the first powerplay, both of them were already in their 30s and the end of the powerplay didn’t dampen their flow as both of them reached their fifties in style.

Together they put up a 111 run partnership for the first wicket.
