IPL is set to start on March 31, but Bairstow needs more time to recuperate completely and get back into shape. He is anticipated to be healthy and prepared to participate in the forthcoming Ashes matchup with Australia in June. As a consequence, Bairstow will be replaced in the PBKS squad for the IPL by Australian batsman Matthew Short.
A major setback has been handed to The Punjab Kings (PBKS) before the eagerly awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season after Bairstow regrettably won’t be able to take part because he is still recovering from a knee injury. While playing golf in September of last year, Bairstow broke his leg and dislocated his foot, requiring surgery in October. The right-hander hasn’t been able to compete since then.
