The CSK batsman earlier pulled out of IPL 2020 due to personal reasons. With no confirmation on what the exact reason was, the CSK management offered full support to the player. Suresh Raina has reached Delhi along with his family and has been home quarantined since. Raina is an integral part of the side’s batting line up and plays an important role in the lead along with MS Dhoni.
His teammates Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad along with 10 support staff had also tested positive as announced by the management. While earlier there were assumptions to the various reasons he could have pulled out of the league, he himself has now disclosed the reason.
“Nothing more important than kids,” confirming his concert around the bio-bubble and players testing positive. Apart from this, the player has also endured a personal loss. His family in Pathankot were attacked and lost his uncle leaving the family members injured and serious.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan stated that the franchise respects the player’s decision and will support him.The CSK camp will also quarantine for another week before they can start training outdoors.
The members tested positive for the virus have been taken out of the bubble and will have to test negative thrice before returning to training. Suresh Raina and Priyanka have two kids Gracia (4 years) and Rio (5 months) and they seem worried for their little kids.
