Chennai Super Kings have a great auction again on 23rd December, Friday. CSK bought the English cricketer Ben Stokes for INR 16.25 Crore which was their biggest ever signing in the IPL history. The franchise loved the player, wanted him and thus entered into the bidding war with Rajasthan Royals.
Ben Stokes also tweeted after he was bought by CSK for the IPL 2023. The English all-rounder recently won the T20 World Cup with England. CSK CEO named Kasi Viswanathan was happy to take him in his team. The CEO was present during the auctions.
CEO has also said that the skipper of Chennai Super Kings i.e. MS Dhoni was very happy to hear that they have signed Ben Stokes. As CSK lost one of their best all-rounders named Dwayne Bravo who recently announced his retirement from all the forms of cricket, Ben Stokes was the name they were searching for in this year’s auction.
“Very excited to get Stokes and we were lucky also because he came up at the end. We wanted an all-rounder and MS was very happy that we got Stokes,” said CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan via Star Sports.
