In what could easily be the catch of the season, Ryan Rickelton pulled off a stunning effort to dismiss Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Rajat Patidar, who was cruising at 64 off 32 balls. The moment came during the penultimate over of the innings, bowled by Trent Boult, as RCB sat at 213/4 in 18.5 overs.
Patidar attempted a cheeky scoop to a full delivery outside the wide tramline, but only managed a thick top-edge. The ball ballooned high into the air, and Rickelton sprinted in the opposite direction behind the stumps before diving full-length to take a brilliant low catch on the run, stunning both the crowd and commentators.
The dismissal ended a fiery knock by Patidar that featured 5 fours and 4 sixes, scored at a strike rate of 200. His aggressive stand had pushed RCB into a dominant position, but his wicket slowed the tempo briefly in the death overs.
With the scoreboard reading 213/5 in 19.1 overs, RCB still have a chance to breach the 220-mark, with Jitesh Sharma (33 off 15)* and Tim David at the crease for the final burs
