On Saturday, April 8, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the 12th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 will pit Mumbai Indians (MI) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In their opening contest, Mumbai was humiliated by the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
According to reports, Ben Stokes is working to recover from heel soreness he experienced following a practise session for the Chennai Super Kings at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The match is perhaps the greatest franchise match on the Indian calender.
On his return from the tour, Stokes had scans after being observed to be having difficulty. After realising how serious the injury was, an injection was recommended to treat his joint pain. After receiving a cortisone injection to his left knee as part of a therapy regimen to be fully healthy for The Ashes in the summer, Stokes began his Indian Premier League season as a “specialist batter.”
There is a 50/50 possibility that England’s red-ball captain is going to line up against the Mumbai Indians. Whether Stokes is game-ready or not, the final decision on his selection will be made just before the toss.
