Former Mumbai Indians batsman Ambati Rayudu was the star of the show for CSK as he scored 71 runs off just 48 balls smashing 9 boundaries. He was supported well by Faf du Plessis who also finished the game and scored 55 runs off 44 balls. Young all-rounder Sam Curran played an important cameo scoring 18 runs off just 6 balls clearing the boundary on a couple of occasions.
All the bowlers of Mumbai Indians: Trent Boult, James Pattinson, Jasprit Bumrah, Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar all picked up a wicket each in the loss.
