Gujarat Titans made a strong statement with the bat as openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan stitched a brilliant 120-run stand, laying the foundation for a solid total of 180/6 against Lucknow Super Giants in Match 26 of IPL 2025 at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow.
After winning the toss, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant opted to bowl first. However, the decision backfired early as Gujarat Titans’ openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan came out with clear intent. The duo not only preserved their wickets through the powerplay but also kept the scoreboard ticking with fluent strokeplay. Both registered individual fifties—Gill scoring 60 and Sudarshan 56—before falling in successive overs around the 12th and 13th mark.
Their 120-run opening partnership is now the third 100+ stand between Gill and Sudarshan in the IPL and the longest opening partnership of IPL 2025 so far. It also adds to Gujarat Titans’ rich list of century opening stands in recent seasons:
