
With the 2nd phase of IPL beginning tomorrow at the 19th of September, teams are getting prepped up for the tournament and have announced replacements for the season as many players have declared themselves unavailable for their franchisees for varying reasons. The tournament was suspended during the first half of May due to the bio-bubble breach caused by the 2nd wave of COVID-19 infections in India.

Many players have withdrawn from the tournament due to a jam-packed international schedule and hence teams like Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore & Sunrisers Hyderabad named multiple replacements for their other players.
According to a press release by the IPL, DC have replaced England all-rounder Chris Woakes with bowler Ben Dwarshuis. M Siddharth was also replaced by left-arm medium pacer Kulwant Khejroliya.
Mumbai Indians have signed left-arm medium-pacer Roosh Kalaria as a replacement for Mohsin Khan. Kalaria has appeared in 54 First-Class matches, 46 List A games and 31 T20s and has picked a combined total of 271 wickets.
Punjab Kings have already named Adil Rashid & Nathan Ellis as replacements for Jhye Richardson & Riley Meredith. Last week, they also brought in South Africa’s Aiden Markram in place of Dawid Malan.
Rajasthan Royals have replaced the English duo of Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler with the West Indian duo of Oshane Thomas and Evin Lewis. Thomas has played for the same team in the past. Lewis has scored 1318 runs at a strike rate of 158.03 in 45 T20I’S. They also named Tabraiz Shamsi and Glenn Phillips in the squad.
RCB have also made changes, replacing the injured Washington Sundar with Bengal medium-pacer Akash Deep. Their other changes were Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, George Garton and Tim David for Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams, Kane Richardson and Finn Allen respectively.
Sunrisers Hyderabad brought in Sherfane Rutherford as a replacement for England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow. Je played 7 IPL games before for Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.
