The Indian Premier League 2023 Auction will start on December 23rd, 2022. The Auction will take place in Kochi, Kerala, all in one day. Since this is not a large-scale auction, BCCI chose to complete it in a single day. This auction will now feature the players that weren’t signed by any teams or kept by their previous franchises. Because it is a mini-auction, the teams have a much smaller budget than in seasons past. India will host the 2023 IPL (as per reports).

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have begun the process of launching their IPL 2023 campaign. The process of keeping and releasing the players has already begun. Chennai has released a total of 8 players this year, including well-known athletes like Dwayne Bravo. The remaining 18 players, on the other hand, have been kept by the team. 7 spots are currently open in CSK’s lineup, with 2 spots designated for international players. This year, there are 991 players registered for the IPL auction, and CSK will select 7 from the large field.

The Right to Match (RTM) option will not be available in the IPL auction of 2023. Each team may select a squad of no more than 25 players. The team can only select a maximum of 8 foreign players from among these. 75% of each franchise’s total salary cap must be used. Beyond the salary cap, there can be no purchases made. In the IPL auction 2023, each team is subject to a total salary cap of Rs. 95 crores. 5 crores more than the previous auction, to be exact. In relation to CSK, the team has already spent 74.55 Cr to keep 18 players. They now have 20.45 Cr in their bank account, which they can use to fill the remaining positions.
