Praful Hinge’s Dream IPL Debut: Three Wickets in First Over Stuns Rajasthan Royals

What a debut. What a start. And what a story this is turning into.

Praful Hinge was not even certain of a place in the last match. Named at the toss by skipper Ishan Kishan, then left out at the final moment after a late change. No debut. No field time. Just waiting.

Now this.

Three wickets in his very first over of IPL cricket.

Rajasthan Royals had barely settled when Hinge struck. First came Vaibhav Sooryavanshi then Dhruv Jurel, then Lhuan-dre Pretorius, all gone without scoring. The second wicket came after a thick inside edge crashed into the stumps. The third was a simple catch at deep square as Pretorius tried to force the pace and failed to get distance.

Suddenly, Royals were 1 for 3. Shocked. Quiet. Gone before the innings even began.

At the other end, skipper Riyan Parag was left watching a collapse unfold with no answer. Yashasvi Jaiswal had barely faced a ball when the damage was done.

Praful Hinge IPL Debut After Strong Domestic Rise

Praful Hinge is set to make his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad after a steady climb through domestic cricket.

The 24-year-old Vidarbha pacer, bought for INR 30 lakh, impressed in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and earned his chance after strong performances across formats. Known for hitting the deck hard, he now gets his first big test at IPL level against RR.

Three Balls, Three Wickets, No Warning

This is the first known case of a bowler taking three wickets in the first over of an IPL innings. No build-up. No easing in. Straight impact.

SRH did not need time. Hinge gave them control immediately. Even the crowd at Uppal struggled to process it.

RR never recovered the over. They were already chasing the game before it properly started.

From Sidelines to Spotlight in One Over

From missing out last match to instant match-winner today, Hinge’s rise is sudden and brutal.

But the bigger question now is simple. Was this just one dream over? Or is a new IPL bowler just born under pressure?
