New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra went unsold in the ongoing IPL 2026 mini-auction, with no franchise placing a bid for him at his base price of Rs 2 crore. Ravindra had been released by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the auction following a dip in form during the 2025 season.
Ravindra featured for CSK across the 2024 and 2025 IPL seasons, primarily as a top-order batter. In IPL 2024, he played 10 matches, scoring 222 runs at an average of 22.20 and a strike rate of 160.86, including two half-centuries. His aggressive approach at the top of the order was one of the talking points of CSK’s campaign that season.
However, his output declined in IPL 2025, where he managed 191 runs in eight matches at an average of 27.29 and a strike rate of 128.19, registering one half-century. Ravindra struggled to cement his place in the playing XI and was dropped for a few matches as CSK adjusted combinations.
Overall, Ravindra has played 18 IPL matches, scoring 413 runs at an average of 24.29 and a strike rate of 143.10, with three half-centuries to his name. Despite being classified as an all-rounder, he did not pick up a wicket during his IPL stint.
CSK had originally acquired Ravindra for Rs 1.8 crore ahead of the 2024 season and used their Right To Match (RTM) card to retain him for Rs 4 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. Following his release, Ravindra entered the IPL 2026 mini-auction, but franchises opted not to bid for him in the initial rounds.
While he remains unsold for now, Ravindra could still return to the league later as an injury replacement, keeping his IPL prospects alive for the season.
