Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, known for his on-field brilliance and off-field humor, was seen playfully mocking Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan during a Punjab Kings (PBKS) training session ahead of IPL 2025. The moment, which has since gone viral on social media, had Chahal imitating Rizwan’s famous English phrase, “Yes, it is a two.”

During the practice session, Chahal, who was bought for a massive ₹18 crore by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 mega auction, was seen indulging in some fun banter with teammates. He first teased Shashank Singh, saying, “Darr gaye kya? (Are you scared?)” before mimicking Rizwan’s classic call while taking a run—“Yes, it is a two.” The phrase was originally used by Rizwan during an international match, and cricket fans quickly recognized the lighthearted jibe.

The video, shared by Chahal himself, has left fans entertained and further cements his reputation as one of cricket’s biggest pranksters.

While Chahal is best known for his bowling prowess, his recent exclusion from the Indian squad has been a topic of discussion. The leg-spinner last played for India in August 2023 during a five-match T20I series against the West Indies. Despite being part of India’s T20 World Cup 2024-winning squad, he was overlooked in both white-ball formats.

However, his IPL 2024 performance was impressive, bagging 18 wickets in 15 matches for Rajasthan Royals. Surprisingly, RR decided not to retain him, leading to Punjab Kings securing him for a staggering ₹18 crore at the auction.

Determined to make a comeback, Chahal has remained active in domestic cricket.

  • In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), he took 10 wickets with a strike rate of 15.00 for Haryana.
  • However, he missed the Vijay Hazare Trophy due to personal reasons.

With the IPL 2025 around the corner, Chahal will be looking to prove his worth yet again, using the tournament as a stepping stone back into the Indian squad.

The Punjab Kings will be banking on Chahal’s experience and skill to strengthen their bowling attack as they aim for their maiden IPL title. The franchise kicks off their IPL 2025 campaign soon, and all eyes will be on how Chahal performs under pressure.

With his humorous antics and cricketing abilities, Chahal remains a fan favorite, both on and off the field.
